Instructions after tooth removal

Remove the cotton after 1 hour. (Do not replace it with fresh cotton)
Do not spit out or gargle (rinse forcefully) for 24 hours after extraction.
Have cold and soft food. (Avoid hot, hard, spicy food and aerated drinks)
Apply an ice pack from outside for 15 – 20 minutes immediately after extraction.
Swallow the saliva and blood.
Take medication as advised by the dentist.
Do not touch the wound with finger/ tongue and brush gently.
Avoid smoking and taking alcohol for 2 - 3 days at least.
Gargle with warm water with a pinch of salt and turmeric into it, after every meals from the next 24 hours for 3 – 4 days.
Come for removal of stitches (if given) after 7 days.
If swelling develops apply an ice pack and don’t cover your face with hand, napkin or any other cloth, keep it open.
